With the series of paintings titled “Pleasure” I strive to express the challenging concept of pleasure, body and femininity. To have a better understanding of self and pleasure in relation to society, norms and to the media productions, one needs to investigate the relation between pleasure, motherhood, masculinisation and objectification. In many societies there are contradictory understanding of motherhood, sex and pleasure, as if mothers are not allowed to pleasure themselves, as it is a taboo.

 

The painting series has been exhibited in gallery Värinä in Rovaniemi, Espoonsilta Espoo, and Kattila Halli Helsinki Finland and also in a solo exhibition in Estonia Kraam art space 2017.
